About The Project

Formed in 1973, Bestalinks is a family run business of precision engineers that is engaged in the manufacture of jigs, fixtures and special purpose machinery largely for the automotive, aerospace, defence and paper industries. When it was decided the company needed a new insulated storage shed, they reached out to SIG for support.

Jason Bebbington, the contractor and the owner of Bestalinks, had heard nothing but praise for the product and support from SIG. Via his industry contacts, he reached out to SIG Industrial Roofing Centre (SIG IRC) about their offering and how they could support with the project.

Initially, he asked if they could come down to take measurements of the shed walls and roof. As Jason explains: “I had a contractor originally do the measurements for the project however I really wanted the supplier to be 100% sure of them. I asked whether they had someone to come down and they were happy to do so, despite it not usually being part of the service. It really impressed me.”

Once measurements and requirements were set in stone, Dawn Urmson and Kevin Rae at the SIG IRC presented a range of options for products which would provide the insulation and Fire protection levels needed.

The product recommended and used was Steadmans AS35 Insulated Composite Panel. An insulated steel panel made from a polyisocyanurate core (PIR), the panels ensure heat loss is minimised and contained within the structure. The panel offers solutions to match the required U-Value of the shed.

For Jason, the use of Steadmans was the perfect choice. “The panels were exactly what we needed. They met the need for proper insulation on the roof perfectly, and the way Dawn and the team at SIG IRC explained the various options meant that we were completely confident that we were going for the right choice.”

With an experienced team at his fingertips, Jason had no issues installing the panels once they were delivered. Thanks to the additional support and advice from the SIG IRC team, the panels were installed by Mid-April 2023.

The result is a roof that is fully insulated and a building that is serviceable, ensuring that business can continue to grow.

“I’m really happy with the service that the team at SIG IRC provided, they came down to site, did the measurements and explained the options to us clearly and concisely. Once we’d decided on what we were going to use, they ensure that everything was in order right to delivery. Even after delivery they kept in touch to make sure everything was going according to plan.”
