Dear Valued Customer,
Firstly, I wanted to thank you for your continuing support. Following the UK Prime Minister’s announcement last night, I write to update you on what we are doing to support you and our people.
Under Government guidelines issued our outlets are currently categorised as a provider of essential goods and therefore we will continue to open to you, but with increased restrictions.
These are difficult times, but we are doing all we can to protect you and our employees and maintain a great service to our customers and community so that we can contribute to the recovery of the UK’s overall economic climate.
Changing situation
The construction industry provides an essential service to the country, and we will continue to supply, responsibly, unless the government deems it necessary to extend these restrictions to include our business.
To protect you and our people whilst we stay open, please observe the following.
- Maintain a distance of two meters from other customers and employees
- Observe the space mapping marked out, especially at our trade counters
- Enter the branch in small numbers, you may be asked to queue outside with two metre spacing.
We would encourage you to make use of the recent improvements in service we’ve made to help you to continue to work, including:
Call and Collect service
We have introduced a ‘Call and Collect’ service, where you can phone your order through prior to collection, leaving you more time to spend on the job, while being in line with government guidance on social distancing. Please call your branch to use this service.
Central Sales Office
Our Central Sales Office is fully operational, more employees are now working in the team and we have introduced enhanced technology to ensure smooth order management, along with answering your technical and general enquiries.
Local Delivery Service
With an extensive fleet of specialised vehicles including off load and Moffatt facilities, our nationwide delivery network is still available to provide the materials you need direct to site.
Increased investment in stock
We have invested in further stock increases to maximise availability for our customers…sometimes biggest is best!
Operational HUBs
Contingency plans for all 10 of our UK facilities have been deployed to ensure continuity of service locally. Employee rotas have been adapted for best possible social distancing, allowing employees to support local community/family dependency as best as possible whilst maintaining 100% supply chain capability.
Hygiene regime
We have strict guidance in place across all our branches, underlining the importance of maintaining the strongest hygiene protocols with regards to COVID-19. We will always follow official guidance on this.
As mentioned previously, we have robust contingency plans in place that enable us to flex to the developing circumstances surrounding the COVID19 outbreak, while adhering to the latest government and health authority guidance. Clearly the situation remains very fluid and we will endeavour to keep you up to date as much as we can.
If you have any queries or require additional information, please contact your SIG Account Manager. Remember, we are here to help!
Yours faithfully
